Summary of Young Goodman Brown

About the Author

Nathaniel Hawthorne was an American novelist and short story writer. He was born in 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts. His most famous works include The Scarlet Letter and The House of the Seven Gables. He died in 1864 in New Jersey.

Nathaniel Hawthorne was educated at Bowdoin College. He graduated in 1825 and then worked as a journalist and writer. After completing The Scarlet Letter, he became a full-time writer.
