About the Author
Emily Brontë was born in 1818 in Thornton, Yorkshire. She was the fifth of six children in a poor and large family of Irish descent. Her father, Patrick Brontë was an Anglican clergyman, and her mother, Maria Branwell Brontë ran the household.
Emily’s siblings included Charlotte, Anne, Branwell, and Emily’s two elder sisters who died before she was born. Emily received some formal education as a young girl from her brother Branwell and later attended Roe Head School for three years where she formed strong friendships with her classmates.
After leaving school at age sixteen, she returned home to Wuthering Heights where she worked as a governess for various families until the publication of Wuthering Heights pdf in 1847. It was Emily’s only novel and she died soon after, at the age of thirty in 1848.
Emily Brontë died of tuberculosis in 1848, just one year after Wuthering Heights was published. The author takes interest in writing from an early age.
