About the Author

Cecelia Ahern is an Irish author and daughter of the former prime minister of Ireland, Bertie Ahern. She has published several novels, including PS, I Love You, and Where Rainbows End. Her novels have been translated into over thirty languages and have sold over twenty-five million copies worldwide.

Cecelia Ahern was born on 30 September 1981 in Dublin, Ireland. She is the only child of Bertie Ahern, who served as the Taoiseach (prime minister) of Ireland from 1997 to 2008, and Miriam Ahern (née Halpin).

Ahern was educated at the secondary level at Mount Sackville Secondary School, Chapelizod, Dublin. She then studied Journalism and Media Communications at Griffith College Dublin.

Ahern’s first novel, PS, I Love You comes in 2004 and became a bestseller. The novel was adapted into a film starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler, which was released in 2007. Cecelia Ahern died on October 2, 2020, at the age of 39. No cause of death was given. Ahern is survived by her husband, David Keoghan, and their two sons.
