The author was born on June 5, 1964, in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in English and History. Rick Riordan lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife and two sons.
After working as an elementary school teacher, he wrote his first novel, Big Red Tequila, which won the Mystery Writers of America’s Edgar Award for Best First Novel. Rick Riordan’s books have been translated into different languages and have sold more than 30 million copies in the US alone.
