Patrick Lencioni is an American writer of books on business, most notably The Five Temptations of a CEO, The Four Obsessions of an Extraordinary Executive, and The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. A former president and CEO of The Table Group, a management consulting firm he founded in 1997, Lencioni is now a full-time author and speaker.
His work has been translated into more than 30 languages and sold over five million copies worldwide. Lencioli holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Santa Clara University and an MBA from The University of California, Berkeley.
Lencioni was born in Palo Alto, California, and raised in nearby Los Gatos. His father, Mario Lencioni, was an immigrant from Italy who became a successful real estate developer, while his mother, Mary Lencioni (née Murphy), was an elementary school teacher.
Lencioni graduated from Santa Clara University with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1984, and from the University of California, Berkeley with an MBA in 1991.
