Dan Brown is the author of numerous bestselling novels, including The Da Vinci Code, which has become one of the best-selling novels of all time as well as one of the most controversial.
Born in Exeter, New Hampshire on June 22, 1964, Dan Brown was educated at Phillips Exeter Academy and went on to study English and Spanish literature at Amherst College. After graduation, he moved to Hollywood to pursue a career in music, writing and performing his own songs as a solo artist.
He later returned to the east coast where he taught English and creative writing at Phillips Exeter Academy, his alma mater. It was while teaching at Phillips Exeter that Dan Brown began work on his first novel, Digital Fortress. The book was published in 1998 and became a bestseller.
