Michael Lewis is an American non-fiction writer and financial journalist. He has also written several books including The Big Short, The Blind Side, and Moneyball. Lewis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and graduated from Princeton University.
He currently lives in Berkeley, California with his wife and three children. Michael Lewis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 15, 1960. He is the son of Diana Monroe Lewis, a civil rights lawyer, and Josephodington Lewis II, a businessman, and stockbroker.
Lewis has two sisters, Leila and Holly. He attended Isidore Newman School in New Orleans and graduated from Princeton University in 1982 with a degree in art history. After graduation, he worked as a trader at Salomon Brothers in New York City.
In 1985, Lewis was assigned to the London office of Salomon Brothers and later transferred to the firm’s newly opened Tokyo office. He returned to London in 1987 and resigned from Salomon. He is famous for his work all across the globe.
