About the Author

Wolfgang Baur is an American game designer best known for his work on Dungeons & Dragons. He began designing role-playing games in the early 1980s, and Tales of the Yawning Portal was first published in 2002 as an adventure module for 3rd edition D&D rules.

Baur’s childhood love of science fiction and fantasy literature inspired him to pursue a career in game design. He studied mathematics at Stanford University, before eventually moving to Austin, Texas where he worked at various software companies.

Baur is happily married to his wife, Laura Baur. They have a son, Michael, and a daughter, Caroline. They currently reside in Austin, Texas. The author takes interest in writing from an early age.

Wolfgang’s commitment to gaming extends beyond Tales of the Yawning Portal pdf as a game designer, he has contributed to various other Dungeons & Dragons modules and sourcebooks such as The Grand History of Cormyr (2004) and Expedition to Castle Ravenloft (2005).
