Summary of the No Longer Human 

The novel tells the story of a young man named Oba Yozo. Yozo is from a wealthy family and has a lot of privilege, but he feels like an outsider. He is not quite sure how to connect with other people and often feels like he is just going through the motions of life.

Yozo starts to keep a diary as a way to express himself and his true feelings. Through his diary, we see that Yozo is a very sensitive and introspective person. He is constantly analyzing his own thoughts and emotions. He feels like he is living in a world that he does not understand.

Yozo eventually meets a woman named Orito. Orito is kind and understanding, and she seems to be the only person who really sees him. The two of them form a close bond, and Yozo falls in love with her.

However, tragedy strikes and Orito is taken away from him. This event causes Yozo to spiral into a deep depression. He turns to alcohol and drugs as a way to numb his pain. He becomes increasingly detached from reality and loses all sense of hope.
