Chris Voss is a former FBI hostage negotiator and is currently the CEO of The Black Swan Group Ltd., a negotiation consulting firm. He has worked on some of the most high-profile negotiations in history, such as the release of American hostages from Iran in 1981, and the Branch Davidian standoff in Waco, Texas in 1993.

Chris Voss was born in 1953. He grew up in New Jersey and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975. After college, he joined the FBI and became a hostage negotiator.
