Kazuo Ishiguro is a British novelist. His work has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize five times, winning once, and he has also the Nobel Prize in Literature. Born in Nagasaki, Japan, Ishiguro moved to England with his family when he was five years old.
He attended the University of Kent, where he studied English and philosophy. Ishiguro’s first novel, A Pale View of Hills, comes in 1982. His second novel, An Artist of the Floating World, won the Whitbread Book Award for fiction.
