About the Author
Patrick Rothfuss is an American author of epic fantasy novels. He is famous for his series The Kingkiller Chronicle, which consists of The Name of the Wind and its sequels, The Wise Man’s Fear, and The Doors of Stone.
Rothfuss was born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1973. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he studied English and psychology. He later earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
Rothfuss’s debut novel, The Name of the Wind, was in 2007 and was a New York Times bestseller. It won the 2008 Quill Award for Best Fantasy Novel and was nominated for the World Fantasy Award. The Name of the Wind is famous for its sequel, The Wise Man’s Fear, in 2011.
