Summary of I Heard You Paint Houses 

The novel begins with Frank Sheeran, a truck driver, who is called to meet with Russell Bufalino, the head of an organized crime family. Frank is asked to work as a hitman and is sent on various jobs to eliminate anyone who goes against the family’s wishes.

He carries out his tasks without remorse or hesitation, however, he soon begins to feel uneasy about taking lives and wonders what happened to him that made him so cold-blooded. Throughout the novel, Frank’s story intertwines with that of Jimmy Hoffa, the famous Teamsters Union leader who mysteriously disappeared in 1975.

It is through his interactions with Russell Bufalino that Frank meets and works with Hoffa. I Heard You Paint Houses pdf reveals how their relationship evolves over time and ultimately leads to Hoffa’s disappearance.

About the Author

Charles Brandt was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School. After graduating, he worked as a prosecutor in Delaware and later became a defense attorney.

Brandt began researching this interesting novel while working on an unrelated case involving members of organized crime families. As his investigation continued, he met with Frank Sheeran.
