Summary of the House of Leaves

The story of House of Leaves is told through a series of journal entries, interviews,  and various other documents, all found by a man named Johnny Truant. The book follows the adventures of two people, Will Navidson and his girlfriend Karen Green, as they move into an old house in Virginia that appears to be bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.

As they explore the house further, they find various rooms and passageways that seem to defy logic and could not possibly exist within the walls of the building. As their exploration continues, their discoveries become increasingly bizarre and dangerous.

Eventually, they come across a living creature that has been living in the home’s basement for many years, called Zampano. By piecing together clues from Zampano’s writings and interviews with other characters connected to House of Leaves, it is revealed that the house is a doorway to an alternate dimension.
