About the Author

Gillian Flynn is an American author and television critic. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in suburban Chicago. Flynn began her writing career as a freelance journalist for Entertainment Weekly.

Her first novel, Sharp Objects, was published in 2006 and was followed by Dark Places in 2009. Flynn’s third novel, Gone Girl, was published in 2012 and became an international bestseller. The novel was adapted into a film directed by David Fincher and starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.
