Summary of Fish In a Tree 

Ally is a 6th grader who has been labeled as a troublemaker due to her difficulties in learning. She is frustrated that she cannot read or write like other students and constantly lies about not knowing the answers during class.

Her teacher, Mr. Daniels, notices that Ally has a special talent for drawing and encourages her to start paying more attention in school by focusing on her drawing. Ally then discovers that she learns best when she sees things visually and begins to do well in school.
