About the Author
Mohsin Hamid was born in the year 1971 and he is a Pakistani novelist, essayist, and brand consultant. His novels Moth Smoke (2000), The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2007), and How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia (2013) are all international bestsellers. Exit West is his most recent novel.
He has been included in The New York Times Magazine’s “20 under 40” list of fiction writers (2007) and Granta’s once-a-decade list of the 20 best young British novelists (2013). He has twice been shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
The author currently lives in London with his family. He has a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.Phil. from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He is a very well-known and popular designer all across the globe.
Hamid was born in Lahore, Pakistan, to Hazlitt “Bunny” Hamid and Rukhsana Hamid. His mother is Pakistani and his father is of half-Pakistani, half-British descent. He has two sisters: Zara and Natasha.
