Summary of A Court of Wings and Ruin
The story opens with Feyre, a human, on a hunt in the woods outside of her home. She kills a deer and is about to drag it back to her family’s cabin when she is attacked by a wolf. She manages to kill the wolf, but not before it bites her. The girl knows that she is now infected with lycanthropy and will soon turn into a wolf herself.
Feyre lives in the nearest town, where she is put on trial for killing a species. She is sentenced to death but is saved at the last minute by a faerie named Tamlin. He takes her back to his home, an otherworldly place called the Spring Court, and tells her that she must stay there for three months.
Feyre soon realizes that she is a prisoner in the Spring Court and that Tamlin is not the benevolent savior he first appeared to be. She spends her days exploring the court and trying to find a way to escape.

Sarah J. Mass is a New York Times bestselling author of fantasy novels for young adults. Her most recent series is the A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy, which includes A Court of Wings and Ruin.
She has also written The Cruel Prince, The Witching Hour, and a number of other stand-alone novels. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and three children. When she’s not writing, she reads, hiking, or spends time with her family.
Sarah J. Mass graduated from Smith College in 2001 with a degree in English Literature. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from Emerson College in 2002.
She was born in 1978 in a small town in Massachusetts. The author grew up reading a lot of fantasy and science fiction, and she knew from a young age that she wanted to be a writer.
