Booktrope Wants YOUR Submission!

It is a big day for Booktrope. We are trying something new – in our effort to reinvent publishing we are also rethinking the way manuscript submissions are handled and the way we grow our business.

Until now, we have officially been closed to submissions unless they came in via a referral. In other words, you needed to know someone within the Booktrope community in order to be considered. This was not some sort of elitist ploy, the reason was purely practical – we were kept at our capacity solely via this method. Of course we have long wanted to ramp up and publish more awesome books. In order to do that, we built a super-cool back end platform we call Teamtrope. Teamtrope allows teams to form, negotiate contracts, manages the production process, and lets teams communicate with one another – to name just a few things. We also added a lot of fantastic folks to our early reader program to help us sift through the manuscripts and find the ones that resonate most effectively with the most important people in the book business, the readers.

What are we looking for?

  • All genres, including non-fiction. We always say that we draw the line at hatred, but are open to just about anything else.
  • Authors who understand that part of their job as a writer involves marketing – and that marketing is not a negative term. We do offer support for these marketing efforts, but no one can completely replace the voice of the author. Readers don’t want to listen to an interview or read an article by a marketing manager – they want to hear from the author.
  • This means we prefer those authors who understand that being online and active in social media are an important part of the process of selling books.
  • Only people who like the idea of working as a team, and being part of the broader community should seek us out. We call it team publishing for a reason!

For more information about how we work, please take a peek at our website. We currently have 100+ books published, and nearly 200 people working on teams. We know the process works, and we know we can produce fantastic books. Maybe yours is next?

So, here we are, ready for our big moment. I invite you to click through to our new page, and if you have written a book you would like us to consider, fill out the simple form.

Please help us spread the word and invite others to do the same. We really do want YOU!
